Dani Rayford
Dani is a master’s student in Animal Science with a focus on dairy cattle nutrition. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science at Iowa State University, where she worked as an undergraduate research assistant on projects related to feed intake and behavior in the transition period of dairy cows. She also completed research at Iowa State University focusing on the mammary gland teat ends and condition while also completing research in the dairy industry focusing on feed intake, average daily gain, and health of dairy calves given probiotics. Her previous research experience led her to pursue her master’s degree in animal science with a focus on amino acid metabolism at Arriola Apelo Lab.
Dani’s research will be focused on amino acid metabolism and evaluating serotonin and insulin levels and their impact on milk production.
